Toni’s Beef and Peppers

This recipe was originally posted over on my site Mommy Hates Cooking; however, it is a fairly simple recipe to make allergy free as well.  The main difference being that you want to stick with a safe white rice. This also uses corn starch and if you do have an allergy that would prevent you from using this ingredient you would want to replace it with a safe flour.  This is used as thickening agent in this recipe, arrowroot starch is a good alternative; however, you may need to use more than … [Read more...]

Food Allergies 101: Foods We Eat

Many times the hardest part of food allergies is finding a suitable alternative to a food you already love. Steak Fajitas

One of my favorite ways to eat fajitas is with steak. Actually, I could eat everything with steak. I am a steak girl, remember? These fajitas are simple but also flavorful, keep in mind that I do not care for anything spicy so they lack spice. If you would like to make them more spicy add some additional cayenne pepper to your desired hotness. Yes, I just said 'hotness'. Another great thing I love after fajitas, is if you make extra the mixture can be frozen and reheated for a good … [Read more...]
