This recipe was originally posted over on my site Mommy Hates Cooking; however, it is a fairly simple recipe to make allergy free as well. The main difference being that you want to stick with a safe white rice.
This also uses corn starch and if you do have an allergy that would prevent you from using this ingredient you would want to replace it with a safe flour. This is used as thickening agent in this recipe, arrowroot starch is a good alternative; however, you may need to use more than what you would use with corn starch.
If you are using an alternative to corn starch, I would suggest adding the amount that is called for in the recipe. Then, if it is not thick enough add a little more until you get to the desired consistency.
Another thing I love about this is that it uses lots of fresh produce too, which if you froze any from your gardens this year it may work out perfectly for you.
I hope you enjoy this recipes, but please remember that you do need to check all ingredients in any recipe and only consume what is safe for you and your family.
Enjoy!
