This week, I am participating in an Elmer’s Bag It Forward SIMPLE Service Project for Champions for Kids. The idea behind the SIMPLE Service Projects is to gather your friends and meet a need in your community then share that story inspire others to give back. It is an amazing project and I’m very excited to be a part of it.
My son just started school and the school is in need of art supplies. I used this Elmer’s Bag It Forward project to give back to my son’s school and add additional art supplies to the classroom. This is a great way to help encourage your children to give back. My son loves projects like this because they don’t involve foods that he cannot eat, he understands school supplies and gets excited about helping out other children.
You can’t miss the school supply section right now, it’s just like Christmas only instead of stocking stuffer bins filled with razors and chocolate, there are bins full of glue sticks and pencils. Chocolate certainly wouldn’t hurt.
Glue is a must-have on just about every school supply list but especially art supply lists. I made sure to pick up a few bottles of it and some glue sticks too. Of course, I was momentarily distracted by the Elmer’s Glitter Glue. Amazing.
The buggy was loaded full of great Elmer’s products but I wasn’t finished yet. My son spotted the watercolors and crayons so we picked up some of those items too!
Before we left, I made sure to pick up some dry erase markers for our teacher who did request those as a must-have for the classroom. All in all, we ended up with Elmer’s glue bottles & glue sticks, dry erase markers, watercolors, crayons and packages of colored pencils which are great for any art room!
Like I said earlier, I especially enjoy donating items like these that allow my son to participate in the process. We can’t wait to pass them along to our teacher!
If you would like to see more photos from our shopping trip, please check out Food Allergy Eats on Google+. Champions for Kids is an amazing program, you can find them on Facebook and on Twitter and be sure to use the hashtags #Champions4Kids and #BagItForward.
Be sure to visit Elmer’s as well both on Facebook and Twitter.

This is a great time to pick up those supplies at a low cost. I know that I’ve picked up extra items to pass along at those sales. And, my one son loved helping me bag it forward with Elmers, too.
