I love a good hamburger. Yep, I said it. I could eat hamburgers every single day if I knew it would not cause long term coronary issues. Today, was no different than any other day, I have been craving a hamburger. I decided however, that I had no real desire to take on all those extra calories so I made it my mission to make a light version that was even better than the original.
I did it.
I am telling you right now, this is not your mama’s burger. This is an Ocean Naturals Tuna & Turkey Burger and it will blow you away. It’s that good…if I do say so myself.
First, we’re skipping the heavy meat and going for Ocean Naturals Tuna which is good for you (15 grams of protein per serving) with no fillers, preservatives or additives. And, it tastes amazing.
Ocean Naturals uses only responsibly caught, wild fish. In fact, you can even learn where your tuna came from by visiting Ocean Naturals and entering the code found on the can.
I simply used Ocean Naturals Tuna and mixed it with some of my favorite things to create a tuna & turkey bacon burger that your family will love.
If you do not have food allergies, you would normal use eggs to bind the ingredients together. However, with our special dietary needs, I subsitited appleaauce in place of the eggs and it worked perfectly making the patties easy to form.
Once it was all well mixed, I formed the patties and wrapped them in turkey bacon to keep it healthy and make it perfect for the grill.
For bread, I used Ener-g gluten free tapioca dinner rolls. I grilled those as well when the burgers were done. Of course, it all went amazingly well with sweet potato fries. This is a yummy meal that your family is sure to love, my parents even stopped by to enjoy it!
